MARADONA & FREDDIE MERCURY'S LEGACY. FROM LEGENDS TO MITHS
'I won't be a Rock Star. I will be a Legend' Freddie Mercury once confessed and he was not wrong. “When they say that I am God, I answer that they are wrong: I am a simple soccer player. God is God and I am Diego " Maradona declared, and he was wrong.
Not only did they had an extraordinary vocal range or an insane talent when it comes to football. But their charisma made their case. They were disrupted and iconic. Dandy and outrrangeous doesn't begin to describe such characters. None of them were holded back from modesty. They knew their worth, and their talent inspired others.
Some of their similarites are their social backgrounds and how they scaleted and rise from the ashes. Diego Armando Maradona was from a poor neighborhood, Villa Fiorito, who's dream was to participate in a World Cup. Freddie on the other hand was a painfully younf inmigrant from Zazibar living in England, transforming himself into the ultimate rockstar.
Their wild fashion sense made them icons. Maradona's Versace faux coat and two watches on his wrists became a statement. Freddie's flamboyant bodysuits, brightly colored jackets and skintight leather getups made him stand out in the crowd and in the music industry.
