GG 1x7 Review: ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE UPPER WEST

Thanks to all of the storylines merging at Nick and Zoya's apartment, Gossip Girl (2021) Season 1 Episode 7 was the strongest episode of the series to yet. Who'd have imagined that everyone would be spending Thanksgiving with the Lotts? Let's begin with the sisters. They must put an end to their bickering over a boy. They'll look back on their connection in ten or twenty years and wish they had spent more time as sisters. Obie isn't exactly a catch, but he appears to enjoy pitting Julien and Zoya against each other. Another difficult pill for me to take is Zoya's dissatisfaction with the hookup. Julien and Obie still have a connection, and Zoya doesn't understand why her coming has broken it. The main problem with this connection is that Zoya believes she has a right to be in a relationship with Obie, her sister's on-again, off-again boyfriend.

Nick and Davis working together to mend the sisters' connection was interesting because you could see they hate each other, but they don't want the sisters to miss out on a relationship because of their faults.

Davis' admission of robbing Nick of his daughter's birth and his dying moments with his sweetheart astounded me. We're getting into the meat of their feud now, and we need a lot more of it. Nick's admission that he would have done the same thing was a thoughtful gesture that allowed the girls to discuss it. The road to reconciliation between the sisters is murkier than ever now that they are officially on the outs.

Because his misdeeds never come back to bite him, Obie remains the show's weakest character. He's a typical privileged kid, but he wants everyone to believe he's this upstanding guy. He's a terrible friend to Aki and tretas Julien and Zoya like objects in a chess game. Disgusting.

Evan Mock was one of the weaker members of the ensemble at the start of the series, but in recent episodes, he's evolved into one of the greatest.

Aki's anguish made for compelling television as he struggled to move on from his father's downfall while still contemplating the future with Max and Audrey.

Aki has reached a point in his life where he can be himself without apology, and his remark about spending the night with Audrey and Max was amusing.

Everyone at the table was flabbergasted because it came out of nowhere. He truly steals the show with his charisma and refreshing personality.

Max had to tell his fathers everything about Rafa. He couldn't just sweep it under the rug and forget about it. He had to accept the implications for himself. Rafa's decision to abandon his work and disclose the truth appeared out of nowhere. Throughout the first half of the season, his unpredictable and intimidating behavior led me to believe that this was going to end horribly. Granted, Max played a significant role in the teacher's awakening, but it was a refreshing change of pace. Switching from high-action to fascinating character development is a certain method to pique fans' interest. The biggest surprise is that Rafa kept quiet about the other teachers at school. He obviously had strong views about utilizing the account, but I have a feeling this isn't the last time we'll see him. He'll reappear at some point.

Overall, NOTHING can ever beat the original thanksgiving episode of the first show "The secret of Serena Madre", the soundtrack, the cast, the clothes. But drama was everywhere on this reboot and Aki stole the show. Seeing how Gossip Girl, aka the teachers, opearte it's creepy and so are the amount of explicit sex scenes.
