BACKGROUND HISTORY.

Marshall Bruce Mathers III, better known as Eminem, was an American rapper, record producer, and actor who was most known for being one of the most controversial and best-selling artists of the early twenty-first century. He was born on October 17, 1972, in St. Joseph, Missouri, United States.

Mathers had a difficult childhood, which included poverty and allegations of abuse. He began rapping in bars in Detroit, Michigan, at the age of 14, and when unexcused absences forced him to repeat ninth grade, he dropped out, determined to make it in hip-hop music. He built a reputation for himself in the hip-hop underground as Eminem, both as a solo artist and as a member of the D12 rap sextet from Detroit. However, his first album, Infinite, did not do well at the box office, and he continued to perform menial jobs.

He is one of the best-selling artists of all time, with over 155 million albums sold. Eminem's raps aren't about the typical topics of drugs, firearms, and women that rappers discuss; instead, they are about his family, living condition, and drug problems. He speaks about actual challenges that most people can identify to, and his problems persisted even after he became famous, allowing him to keep making honest songs.
