BACKGROUND HISTORY. Christina Aguilera is an American singer-songwriter who was born on Staten Island, New York, on December 18, 1980. Aguilera got her start as a part of the cast of The All New Mickey Mouse Club. Following the release of her smash track "Genie in a Bottle," which garnered her a Grammy Award for Best New Artist, she quickly ascended to fame. "What a Girl Wants," "Come on Over Baby," "Lady Marmalade," and the sexually charged "Dirrty" are among her other successful tracks. Aguilera has coached and mentored contestants on the singing competition show The Voice in recent years.
