BACKGROUND HISTORY

Initially a dynamic shake bunch, Europe didn't accomplishvictory until they adjusted their sound into loftyhowever melodic pop-metal. In their to begin with incarnation, the Swedish band was called Drive. Highlightingcenterindividuals Joey Whirlwind (vocals), John Norum (guitar), Tony Reno (drums), and John Leven (bass), the band won a national abilitychallengewithin the early '80s, which driven to a record contract. After changing their title to Europe, the band landed an universalbargain with Epic Records. By this time, Reno had cleared out the gather and been supplanted by Ian Haugland.
