CULTURAL IMPACT
Maneskin, an Italian rock band, plays with style and flair, crafting catchy pop/rock tunes with tight musicianship and solid vocals. Their two full-length albums, Il ballo della vita (2018) and Teatro d'Ira, Vol. 1 (2021), have both topped the charts and earned quadruple-platinum certifications in their home country.
The band, which is based in Rome and consists of Damiano David (vocals), Victoria De Angelis (bass), Thomas Raggi (guitar), and Ethan Torchio (drums), met in high school and formed Mneskin in 2016. They began as buskers, but they quickly rose to prominence after appearing on the Italian X Factor in 2017, where they finished second with a cover of the Killers' "Somebody Told Me." Following their newfound fame, they began work on their debut album, Il ballo della vita, which was released in 2018.
The band made a huge breakthrough in 2021, shortly after releasing their second album, Teatro d'Ira, Vol. 1, when they won the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Zitti e buoni." In 2022, the single "Supermodel" was released.
