PSYCH. REVIEW

It took a couple of seasons for it to nail down its sense of humour, but around season three is when it finally does, and man does it deliver from there on out.

It's incredible, coming from someone who writes and reads a lot and pays attention to details that others don't when it comes to shows. The casting is absolutely flawless. The actors are excellent in their roles. Characters in this show are exceptionally well developed and three dimensional, rather than flat. The show itself is hilarious, with hilarious characters and conversations.

Shawn and his partner Gus are a classic pairing. A legendary team. It would be impossible to watch the show without them. They've been friends since they were kids. Shawn's father is a retired cop who used to work for the Santa Barbra police department. Shawn would be tested in the same way that a police officer would be tested. He teaches him lessons that will be useful to him in the future. Shawn is learning new techniques and preparing his mind to become a good cop. Shawn later solves another case for the department while watching the news about the crime.

He is then questioned about his involvement in the crimes, but he later proves he is not. Karen Vics, the chief, then hires Shawn and Gus to assist in the investigation of a murder. Both of them are eager to investigate their childhood dreams. This is their first case.

When they figure out who did it, they are proven to be dependable consultants to the department and are hired for additional cases in the future. They play the roles of psychic detectives for the Santa Barbara Police Department. Shawn claims to be a psychic, and Gus is his logical partner in crime. Gus works in pharmaceuticals on the side. Shawn and Gus both form their own private detective team, Psych, and open their own office. They also work on private cases for individuals who hire them to solve crimes. They constantly crack jokes, Gus always has a nickname to use, and Shawn always comes up with some shenanigans by guessing a possible lead that no one believes is legitimate.

They collaborate with chief investigator Carlton Lassiter and his partner Juliet Ohera. Of course, Lassiter believes Shawn is a fraud and is constantly plotting ways for him to be discovered. Juliet, on the other hand, thinks he's psychic. When Shawn and Gus come up with the most bizarre theories about why the victim died, both detectives doubt their abilities. While Shawn and Gus pursue a bizarre lead, detectives Lassiter and Ohera pursue leads they believe are legitimate until Shawn and Gus prove them wrong. Finally, once the investigation is completed, they demonstrate once more that they are worthy opponents to be wary of.
