BETTER CALL SAUL. REVIEW.

Making a spin-off series work is a difficult task in and of itself, but when it is the spin-off of arguably the greatest TV series of our generation, creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould had set themselves nearly impossible standards to meet. But the creative minds behind "Breaking Bad" didn't stop there, delivering a moody, atmospheric, immersive experience in "Better Call Saul" that received the poetic, emotional sendoff it deserved in a sensational finale episode that aired today.

Over the 14 years he has played the iconic role of "Saul Goodman," the sleazy, scheming, smart-talking mob lawyer/fixer on Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, Bob Odenkirk has made the role his own, creating a landmark portrayal.

The series follows both the formative years of the con artist turned lawyer as he made a name for himself, as well as the "Breaking Bad" storyline, capturing Saul Goodman as a fugitive, eking out a lonely living under an assumed name in rural Omaha.

This is a storytelling master class. Forget that it is a prequel or the spiritual successor to Breaking Bad; it is the best show ever produced for television! Every moment, every word, every action has repercussions, similar to how a stone dropped in water causes ripples all around it...

Season 6 follows our Machiavellian attorney devise some new schemes of his own to earn some quick money, all the while keeping the forces of law enforcement on his tail for his many crimes, including laundering Walter White's money and his role in the cover-ups of murders committed by Lalo Salamanca. After six years in hiding, Saul's troubled past appears to have finally caught up with him, and the rest of the story is about how he makes his way through one perplexing predicament after another to protect his new life.

Every element that helped the Breaking Bad franchise stand the test of time and remain a cult phenomenon across generations is astutely replicated in Better Call Saul: an intense, deeply personal narrative approach, nuanced, painstakingly detailed character development, and brutally realistic interpersonal relationships, all of which make the series distinctly binge-worthy.
