Sharpay Evans, an underrated queen and a role model for young girls
THE FLAWED HEROINE HSM NEEDED. Let`s focus on Sharpay Evans, the annoying blonde of the movie, the obstruction to Troy and Gabriella`s relationship and one of the few characters in the whole collection of HSM movies (including Sharpay`s Fabulous Adventure) to have amazing character development.
Now, you may or may not think I`m giving Sharpay a little too much credit but that`s where you`re mistaken and this is where we`re going to talk about how utterly misunderstood and underrated of a character Sharpay Evans really is. Put on your reading glasses and let`s get right into it!
In the first movie of the High School Musical trilogy, Sharpay is shown to be quite the drama queen. A brat spoilt rotten by her parents that gets what she wants, when she wants. Exactly the definition of a teenage Bratty daughter. Of course, this is a seemingly observation. A little that seems to threaten her position as what I call the East High Theater Princess, such as when she discovers that she and her brother Ryan are vying for the protagonist of a winter musical. Especially she reacts dramatically. Of course, competition is a couple of movie powers.
She proved to be incredibly ambitious. She is still ambitious in that she does whatever it takes to get to where she wants, whether it's sympathetic, sneaking in, or eliminating the possibility of competition. Despite her negative traits, she has some redemption points, which makes her such an adorable personality. She is motivated, has high goals and is really doing her best. Her self-confidence is, so to speak, repulsive and one of the best aspects of her personality. This makes Troy and Gabriella the perfect distraction for a smooth sailing trip, as shown in High School Musical 2. Yes, she has a bratty personality but she can genuinely be nice which isn`t a trait one would emphasise for an antagonist. In HSM 1, she wishes Gabriella good luck for the musical. Acknowledging that she didn`t get the part despite working quite hard for it, she chose to be a good sport and was even supportive.
In HSM 2, she fought for the attention of Troy Bolton, doing what she can to include him in her little antics and activities which included singing with her at the talent show. Once again, working hard to get what she wants but not hiding her sly nature, she even casted Ryan to the side! In the end when her plans began to slip through her fingers and into Ryan`s palms, she decides to suck it up and proudly present her brother with the award for the talent show. She knows how to let go of her pride and admits that there are others who are a little more valuable than herself. It tells a lot about her as her person, not as her adversary.
In HSM 3, Sharpay is the third role. She hasn't changed from her previous HSM movie, but this time she has her challenger. Unlike Gabriella, no one is destined to hit her. Here you can see that she is actually the victim of the HSM trilogy. Of course, she would be bitter when she realized that one of her performances was hampered by Troy's lateness and was fooled by a tiara she called only a "British schoolgirl"! It goes without saying that she aimed to get a Juilliard scholarship. However,
crashed the tiara's performance, gained her legitimate position as her musical Shar Pei, eventually killed the performance, left the tiara in the dust, and redeemed herself. The point is that Sharpay wasn't just giving up with a seizure, as most people would expect. She recovered and she got what she wanted and, of course, what she deserved. Unlike HSM 1 and 2, she was finally able to claim herself.
Finally, in her own spin-off movie, Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure, she shows that she has overcome difficulties and is facing reality. In this movie you can see very clearly who she is as the main character. She still has her naughty attitude, but as her movie progresses, it turns out how vulnerable she can be and that her HSM trilogy didn't make her. ..
What I like about this movie is that she actively gets something for herself, rather than constantly moving and struggling to rob something or someone else. I'm seeing you struggling. Most notably, she showed that she faced disagreements with her father, harsh treatment, and an unfamiliar environment and somehow overcame it. Her character's development is tremendous and unlike any other HSM character, except for Ryan, who doesn't appear in this movie.
Overall, Sharpay Evans is a great character and she has some qualities that can be applied to herself and others. Recall that she doesn't have to be "good" or "positive" for her character to be good. Sharpey is the perfect adversary of the HSM series, and she herself is a great character. Her growth as a character is undoubtedly highly dependent on others, so it fits well in a variety of environments, including schools, family clubs, and New York City. Why does Gabriella always take the lead when the
Shapei is clearly superior in her vocal abilities, showmanship and on-stage presence? Shapei, portrayed as an enemy in most movies, is much more likely to develop her character. In order for a character to make a meaningful journey, he must start somewhere else.
