Television IT Girls that revolutionazed pop culture

They steal the show, they know their worth and showcase an ambitious trope of female characthers. From Lorelai Gilmore, Haley Dunphy, Jackie Burkhart, Cher horrowitz to Blair & Serena and Summer and Marissa from The OC, these women are here to stay in much more than just your screen.

Starting off wirth the composition of their personas, each one of these characthers symbolizes part of pop culture, not jus tv and fashion but life in social media as well. They created fashion staples with their looks, not just trends but actual styles that continue to live on forever. For instance, Blair Waldorf's headbands and preppy style is now the "old money" aestetic. Serena van der Woodsen's knee high boots and shorts dresses look alike the YSL gal. Rory Gilmore's sweaters and Lorelai's graphic tees with jeans are the Y2K looks we all crave for. So why is it so relevant to mention these IT girls?

Television during the late 90s/early 2000s never really focused on fashion till the arrival of these characthers, and was the most popular hobbie of all. Sex and the city brought 5 different women together onto teaching a different style for each one of them, Gossip Girl created an ambitious evil queen we all adore where power is fashion and Haley Dunphy (Modern Family), Cher Horrowitz (Clueless) and Jackie Burkhart (That 70s Show), gave us a glimpse of what dressing the part on your everyday life should look like. But how about their iconic phrases? These are pretty much the only positive images we got from women on screen, where feminity is a good quality and is it not demonized. They did'nt just dressed cute, they were role models for little girls and women who havent seen the road of being ambitious as something that could be achived. Here are a few of my favorites:
