Thoughts of a perfeccionist who tries to ace every part of her life.

More and more women are looking for a certain thing and that thing does not necesaarily involve a certain ring.

I couldnt help but wonder, Why do we fall for perfect and unatainable men with unrealistic standars? Why cant we marry a backstreet boy or a prince?

If you are a perfectionist in every area of your life, this is the article for you.

Most of the times we think about our life goals, proyects that we have in mind, wanting them to make them come true. Could it be the perfect career, a huge closet full of Manolo's, a family or the perfect guy. But does not finding him makes us feel caged? Absolutley not. Should you lower your standars to find your right fit? Most definitly not. Then why can't i find him? And why do i search for unrealistic and even fictional men?

Easy, every reflection of what we are and want is being broadcast on our tastes. We visualize this in many aspects of our hobbies. Tv, music, film, fashion, sports, etc. The perfect exaples of these are boybands and tv shows like One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl.

Lets take a look at some infamous music products. A personal favorite. Boybands. Every guy is shaped to a womans type. Could it be the funny guy, the hot guy, the cute one, the bad boy and the mysterious one. they all sing and look beautiful on stage. So unatainable that you can only dream of THAT guy. But most of all, realistic compare to fictional characters we often see on tv.

Teen shows have also been a part of what your physics want. One tree hill show us how we all started watching the show for Chad Michael Murray and ended up loving his onscreen brother, the actual perfect guy, Nathan Scott (portrayed by James Lafferty). Gossip girl on the other hand, makes us root for toxic men like Chuck Bass or even the Prince of Mónaco, Louis Grimaldi, at some point of the series.

But we never root for Blair to marry a guy like Nate Archibald o ending up single with her perfect fashion empire (I did but it is not a popular belief). Instead, we rooted for a certain type of man who hurts us instead of making us grow, unlike Nathan Scott, whos always there for his wife no matter what. Characters like Chuck Bass bring out the worst in us, yet we still crave and fall for that! Why?? Are we all Carrie Bradshaw?

We are the white knights, and we save ourselves with no help but ours. Falling for the one could come or not, but you should never wish that as the only thing in your life. Enjoy your job, your friends and family.

So go ahead and be your single and fabulous self that you are! If a great guy comes along, great, but dont root for that to happen, you only got one heart and its yours. Celebrate yourself, being single and fabulous!
