DECODING RED CARPETS. BAFTAS 2023
Black and white are the predominant colors on the red carpet at the Baftas.
There aren't many greater color combinations in fashion history than black and white, which are associated with icons like Audrey Hepburn and Coco Chanel. Stars at the Baftas donned the tried-and-true formula on Sunday night at the award ceremony. The red carpet was an ocean of black and white.
There were variations even if this is the pinnacle of "safe pair of hands" evening attire. Some celebrities mixed and matched various elements, which gave their outfits a slightly more "real life" feel.
Julianne Moore had a Saint Laurent column black dress with a fluffy white marabou cloak, while the Princess of Wales had a flowing white dress with long black gloves. Jamie Lee Curtis donned a look that would be equally at home off the red carpet: a black jacket and white satin skirt.
