He is one of the most significant and progressive creators in the design business of the twentieth century.
Brought into the world in 1923 in Pau, a town close to the French Pyrenees, and enthusiastic with regards to calculation, André Courrèges concentrated on structural designing. There he got comfortable with the essentials of design.
In his mid twenties he moved to Paris and soon after, in 1950, he began working at Balenciaga, where he prepared as a style creator. In 1961 he chose to make his own mark along with his indistinguishable aide Coqueline (whom he would wind up wedding).
