Fashion Icons Encyclopedia. Carolina Herrera.

Carolina Herrera was already a great superstar in 1970s New York before becoming a designer and founding her own label, routinely appearing on best-dressed lists. Diana Vreeland, the editor of Vogue USA at the time, pushed him to pursue a career in fashion design. As a friend of Jackie Kennedy and artists like as Robert Mapplethorpe and Andy Warhol, it was easy for her to promote her creations to the crème of New York's high society at the beginning of the 1980s.

Since then, the brand's visibility and brilliance have increased rather than decreased, and they have become more diverse.

It collaborated on a perfume line with the Puig group, which later acquired ownership of the company, as well as a line of wedding dresses, a more economical line called CH, and a foray into children's clothes.

Carolina Herrera New York's ready-to-wear line continues to reign supreme at New York Fashion Week, with its designs commonly spotted at black-tie events. It is not in vain that an actress does not wear one of his magnificent creations during the Oscars' presentation.

The words "classicism," "femininity," and "elegance" properly describe the brand's creations. Herrera, who has led the company for more than 37 years, has announced that she will step down as creative director in the winter of 2018. Designer Wes Gordon will be in charge of her replacement.
