Fashion Icons Encyclopedia. Elie Saab

Elie Saab's story began in Lebanon in 1982. At the age of 18, Saab chose to create his own workshop in an atmosphere of maximal tension and antagonism - the country's day-to-day life was shaped by the armed war it fought with Israel. With little expertise, this was the fulfillment of a long-cherished ideal that had finally come true for the designer.

This Lebanese lover of light and opulent materials, glitter and lace spends the majority of his time in Beirut, though he travels frequently to Paris, where he has his second studio, Milan, or New York.

One of his most memorable pices has to be Hallie Berry[s Oscar gown. His collections often include a sense of chic layers, flowy fabrics and lace in order to express a fairytale storyline. He ain affraid to use colors and surprisangly, he is not a fan of balck and white, his go to color palette are pastels.
