Fashion Icons Encyclopedia. Tom Ford.

Tom Ford was born on August 27, 1961 in Austin, Texas. He studied architecture and interior design, and his early call was an actor. He tried his luck as a film director single man, Nocturnal Animals, but became world-famous as a fashion designer.

Tom Ford, under the direction of Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent, revolutionized the understanding of fashion. The most elegant and explicit sexuality has been added to the new market concept, and the equation has led to planetary sales and viewer success. At Gucci, he touched Mark and was able to go from 0 to 100 as if it were the best Ferrari. Domenico de Sole, his partner and the other half of the successful business tandem, commented that when Tom arrived at Gucci, everything was brown, round and soft. When it came out, everything was black, angular and hard. Not to mention the profits, it went from a $ 230 million company to an exorbitant $ 3 billion (Anglo-Saxon). At

YSL, he designed a marketing plan that worked in Gucci's test bench and adapted it to the most demanding Parisian Maison. Under his influence, Saint Laurent distilled sophisticated sexuality and brought great benefits.

Today, Ford is following the design path with its own signature. The Tom Ford brand started out as the best beauty oasis with a rich catalog of perfumes and makeup. The scope of the company expanded until it became the champion of modern gentlemen. Perfect design with exquisite finish and materials. Ford quickly duplicated the women's collection. The design is drawn from an aesthetic that was clearly influenced by the 70's, but under that direction it exudes magnetic sexuality. Among the women who inspire and wear her creations are powerful references such as Bianca Jagger, Julianne Moore, the star of her first film; Lauren Hutton, a regular at her fashion shows, or Jennifer López, who chose a dress of hers to attend the 2019 Met Gala and who was present at her fallwinter 2020/21 fashion show together with the Oscar winner Renée Zellweger. Some of the latest celebrities to join his select club of clients include Miley Cyrus and Zendaya, who attended the Critic's Choice Awards wearing a pink corset "molded and made specifically for her" by the designer.
